The Renault 5 could return as the premium model from 2014
Renault is considering initiating the development of a new premium compact segment that would be inspired by the classic design of R5. The reborn Renault 5 would be positioned as a new rival for the Mini, DS3 and 500, as well will complement Twingo and Clio in the increasingly demanded compact car segment. The original R5 was the first “supermini” of the modern era and led the sales charts for much of the 70′s to finish his tour in 1985, when he was replaced by the superfive.
The French construction company plans to launch a renewed R5 are still at an early stage, we must bear in mind that Renault is currently developing several models in addition to an ambitious plan to launch electric.
